I received the products mentioned below for free in exchange for a review. Regardless, my opinions are 100% mine and completely honest. Your opinions may differ from mine. We're all different after all. I'm under no obligation to write a positive review and I wouldn't accept a request that required me to. Now, let's get started!
About Remedy Skincare:
Remedy Advanced Skincare is a skincare line for all types of skin. They are formulated with antioxidants, vitamins, and amino acids to nourish the skin. It was actually first developed to soothe and relieve skin irritations from cancer treatments, but now, it's widely used in healthcare facilities throughout the US and of course, in many homes. It's also pH-balanced, non-cytotoxic, non-sensitizing, non-irritating, and non-allergenic. You can see some more information here.
About their Phytoplex line:
I received products from their phytoplex line and here's some information on it. It's made for people with sensitive skin and uses all-natural ingredients derived from plants and marine life. It's free of parabens, phthalates, sulfates and aloe. You can see some more information from that link above.
Review:
As you can see from the photo above, I received a 2 oz. sample of Remedy Hydrating Cleansing Gel, a 2 oz. sample of Remedy Nourishing Skin Cream, and Remedy Lip Balm.
I'm going to start with the Hydrating Cleansing Gel:
First of all, I want to say a little about my skin. My skin is normal-dry and a bit sensitive, so this review is based on that perspective. Second, I want to say that although it can also be used as a shampoo and body wash, I decided to use it on my face since my face's skin is the most sensitive. That's about it.
Now, what I thought about it. I liked the flip cap. It was easy to open & close and made it easy to squeeze a small amount into my fingers. You don't have to use that much to cleanse your entire face and I liked that. Also, I want to just mention that it's a clear gel with a yellow tinge (see picture).
It had a light vanilla scent and smelled really delicious. It really was low-sudsing on my skin and while massaging it on my skin, it felt moisturizing. It was also easy to rinse off afterwards. The result was clean, somewhat dry skin. It's relatively normal in that aspect. My skin felt nice and pretty smooth afterwards. I followed it up with the nourishing skin cream and it was good to go! Overall, I feel like it's a pretty normal cleanser. I didn't feel anything particularly special about it, but it was effective. Considering that the price isn't too bad and it is "Tested to be tear‐free, hypoallergenic (non‐sensitizing, non‐irritating), pediatrician tested, dermatologist‐tested", as well as, designed without parabens, phalates, or petroleum, I would recommend it. It smells delicious and works well. I liked it.
Now, on to the Nourishing Skin Cream.
Like the cleanser, I liked how the bottle design was easy to work with. It was easy to open, close, and squeeze. The cream itself had the same vanilla scent as the cleanser, but stronger, and I could smell it when I squeezed it onto my fingers. It's a white cream and it seemed kind of liquid-y, but actually, it has a nice consistency.
It applies on easily & evenly and is very effective & fast acting. My skin was almost immediately changed from dry to moisturized. You really only need a dab for each cheek and another for the rest of your face. While applying it on my face, I could smell it even more and it smells like vanilla extract. I love baking with that ingredient just because of the scent. It smells heavenly. Anyway, the cream washes off easily with water as I learned this morning, since part of routine is washing my face with water to wake up. I had applied it the night before as well as today, so this morning, it was taken off. After I washed it off though, I had to reapply because my skin became about as dry as when I cleanse it. Overall, the moisturizing power lasts as long as it's still on, but if you wash it off, your skin may become dry pretty quickly like mine, so I'm not really sure if I would recommend it. I would've liked it better if my skin was still moisturized even after I took it off.
Finally, the lip balm.
The first thing I noticed was the scent. It had a sweet orange-y scent kind of like one of those Halls Vitamin C drops. It glides onto my lips and make my lips look moisturized and feel moisturized. It also has a cool, tingly effect and feels medicated. The taste was a orange-honey like taste, again, kind of like those drops or maybe an orange creme ice cream bar. The result? My lips didn't flake after wiping it off, but it did dry up. It was easily fixed with another coat though. Overall, although I'm happy that my lips didn't flake, like with the skin cream, I wish that the moisturizing ability would've lasted a little longer after I took it off. Bottom line is, I'm not sure if I would recommend it. Although, there are a lot of good benefits to using this, my lips got quite dry after I took it off. I suppose it's relatively normal though. You decide for yourself.
