Lokai Bracelet Review & Giveaway

Hello everyone! Welcome to another review. As you can see, this is another company sponsored review and I want to say that even if it is company sponsored, my opinions are still unbiased and truthful.
Also, I want to ask all of you to comment a suggestion for the next review. I just want to write reviews that are relevant to you, my audience, so I will take any suggestions. I'm not saying I will do all of them, but I will do my best to do as many as I can.

Anyway, first off, I want to share the story & symbolism of the bracelet. If you find this boring, feel free to skip to the review, but I just want to share it.
The story of the bracelet centers around a guy named Steven Izen, the founder of lokai. In his freshman year at Cornell University, he found out that his grandfather was diagnosed with Alzheimer's Disease. He felt utterly helpless at the time as he knew that he would have to watch his grandfather slowly get worse and worse. A few days after this heartbreaking news, he went to the beach with his family and friends and he suddenly thought of how some parts of his life could be so good and how other parts could be so bad.
This thought became the inspiration of the lokai bracelet which reminds you to be "humble through the highs and hopeful through the lows." This is represented by the black and white balls on the bracelet. The white ball contains water from Mt. Everest (The highest point on earth), while the black ball contains mud from the Dead Sea (The lowest point on earth) and clear beads connect the two balls, representing life's journey.

Now, my review.
First of all, I just want to point out that the 'beads' are not glass or plastic. From the picture, it looks like it might be, but it is not. It is made from 100% eco-friendly silicone w/ a SGS certificate. Anyway, I really appreciate the bracelet's symbolism and the story behind it. I like how the founder thought of using the water from Mt. Everest and mud from the Dead Sea to symbolize your life's lowest and highest moments. The bracelet itself is actually kind of fashionable/pretty. It might not suit your tastes, but for me, I personally liked how it looked on me. It slips easily on and off my hands, especially since it is stretchable and it's durable too. It hasn't broken or gotten a scratch on it and it doesn't look like it's going to in the future either. **However, a reader has posted that after two days of wearing it, it broke. For me, it hasn't yet, but I suppose not every bracelet has the same durability. Please note this before buying. And another reader has told me that it broke for her at around the white bead and for other people she knows, around the white or black bead. Again, please note this before buying.** It serves as a reminder to me to be hopeful when something bad happens and humble when something incredibly good happens. I really appreciate that. Overall, I like it. If I were to recommend it to a particular group of people, I would say friends and/or family members that have had a rough time in their lives, so they will always be reminded to always have hope.

If you want to purchase one of these, you can go here. It is $18 USD and is available in small, medium, and large. Also, 10% of the proceeds will be going to charity.

Okay, I hope you liked the review and please again, comment any suggestions you may have for the next review!

**The giveaway portion is part of the Anything Goes Blog Hop**

I received one or more of the products mentioned above for free using Tomoson.com. Regardless, I only recommend products or services I use personally and believe will be good for my readers.

  3. I was very surprised to read that they really did put mud in the black bead but that it helps keep the bracelet in the positive spiritual outlook and balances out with the white bead.

  11. My lokai bracelet broke 2 days after I got it .. just from taking it off. I emailed someone at lokai and they never responded. Not happy as I had to spend more to get it shipped to the UK.

    2. I received my Lokai bracelet as a gift about 4 months ago. I wore it every day and took it off in the evening. Yesterday it broke by the white bead. Unfortunately the bracelet has broken by either the black or white bead by everyone I know who has owned one. I love the philosophy but am sad they do not appear to last for long.
